This postgraduate course will review important and emerging topics in the field of Reproductive Genetics that are clinically relevant to maternal-fetal medicine specialists. This course will teach prenatal genetics topics utilizing case-presentations, reviews of the evidence, interactive learning, debates amongst the experts, and ending with jeopardy of high-yield genetics points.

  • Recognize the advantages, disadvantages and potential downstream effects of universal expanded carrier screening.
  • Define mosaic embryos and understand different society recommendations regarding implantation of mosaic embryos
  • Explain the benefits versus limitations of cell free DNA for aneuploidy and Rh genotyping.
  • Comprehend the decision-making involved in choosing a genetic test for specific clinical scenario with fetal anomalies.
  • Recognize the benefits versus limitations of cell free DNA screening.
