This course has been specifically developed to enhance the knowledge and skills of high-risk obstetricians in the field of labor management. By exploring the latest techniques, these experts aim to enhance patient outcomes. Led by experienced professionals in labor management, the discussions will offer attendees a comprehensive and practical assessment of cutting-edge research in this area. Throughout the course, common misconceptions will be clarified and newer strategies will be thoroughly examined. Additionally, the course will delve into algorithms that provide a distinctive and standardized approach to labor, with the ultimate goal of promoting improved outcomes for patients.

Learning Objectives:

  • Assess the safety and efficacy of outpatient mechanical dilation.
  • Describe the effective labor management strategies to reduce time to delivery and/or cesarean delivery rate.
  • Synthesize an evidence-based labor management algorithm to incorporate strategies shown to improve patient outcomes.
  • Identify and analyze cases to improve quality in the care of laboring patients.
