Assistant Professor
The Ohio State University College of Nursing
McKenzie Jancsura, PhD, RN, is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University College of Nursing and a dedicated nurse scientist committed to addressing the long-lasting impacts of adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) on maternal and child health across the lifespan.
Dr. Jancsura’s research focuses on the immunological mechanisms underlying APOs and examines how diet, physical activity, and obesity impact the immune milieu in pregnancy and beyond as possible intervention targets to prevent pregnancy complications and disrupt the pathway toward later-life cardiovascular disease. By targeting these factors, she aims to prevent APOs and interrupt the trajectory toward cardiovascular disease in later life. Her work is supported by the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Nursing Research, the Heilbrunn Nurse Scholars Award, and the nuMoM2b Heart Health Study.
Dr. Jancsura’s clinical experiences include labor and delivery, postpartum, well-women care, and primary care in community health settings. Dr. Jancsura earned her PhD in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University, her BSN, and a BA in International Studies and Global Health from the University of Iowa. She completed her postdoctoral training in nursing and genetics at the University of Pittsburgh.
