Dr. Ifeoma Ogamba-Alphonso is currently a maternal-fetal medicine fellow at NYU Langone Hospital Long Island. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Boston University and her medical degree from the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Danbury Hospital.
Her professional interests include cardio-obstetrics, global women's health, and addressing health disparities. Dr. Ogamba-Alphonso's research has been featured in several publications, including "A Case Report of COVID-19 Infection and Management During Pregnancy," "Initial Review of Pregnancy and Neonatal Outcomes of Pregnant Women with COVID-19 Infection," "Optimal Timing of the Second Trimester Fetal Ultrasound in the Obese Gravida," and "Changes in Gait with Anteriorly Added Mass: A Pregnancy Simulation Study."
Dr. Ogamba-Alphonso has received several awards for her contributions to medicine, including the Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) Award, the Bessie Montesano, MD Service Excellence Award for outstanding patient care, the Shohreh Shahabi, MD Award for Excellence in Scientific Research, the Massachusetts Medical Society International Health Studies Grant, and the UMMS International Medical Education Program Mick Godkin Award.
