Maura Jones Pullins, MD is a third-year Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A Louisiana native, she completed her undergraduate education at Xavier University of Louisiana, a Catholic historically Black college. She earned her medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA, and subsequently completed her residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco.
During her fellowship, Dr. Jones Pullins has focused her research on cardiovascular disease in pregnancy, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, and aspirin for preeclampsia prevention, with a particular interest in the implementation of this low-risk intervention. Clinically, she is also passionate about medical education, especially at the graduate medical education level, as well as quality and safety on Labor & Delivery. She has previously served on the SMFM Communications committee and will join the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee in 2025.
