Professor Timothy Dye is a medical anthropologist and social epidemiologist who specializes in applied public health, particularly within marginalized, isolated, and global populations, and with a content focus on social and cultural determinants of health. Additionally, Dr. Dye's work commonly provides unique opportunities in biomedical informatics and data science, particularly at the intersection of social science and health. While the Dye Lab involves research that evolves with its members, and includes: 1) Global Health, with a special emphasis on Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia and the Pacific, and Global Deaf Health, 2) Perinatal Health, with a special emphasis on social determinants of medical risk in pregnancy and childhood, 3)Technology, in the creation and maintenance of communities of learning, in communication, and to stimulate action, and 4) Innovative ways of bringing communities and researchers together in transparent co-creation of ethical research to improve equity. Dr. Dye is an elected Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology, the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland, the Society for Applied Anthropology, and is a Fellow and Chartered Geographer of the Royal Geographic Society.
