Kwaku A. Doffour-Dapaah (MBChB, FGCS) is an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist and a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialist at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital in Accra, Ghana. He is also a Senior lecturer in women's health at the Accra College of Medicine in Accra, Ghana.
He had his medical training from the University of Ghana Medical School in Accra, Ghana with postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons. Clinical rotations in Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada and University of Michigan in the United States provided him with a wealth of experience during his Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship training program.
He is an early career researcher with interest in prenatal diagnosis, hypertensive diseases of pregnancy, ultrasonographic assessment for the diagnosis of congenital anomalies as well as medical education, among other interests. He has contributed to research on preterm birth in low resource settings, congenital anomalies in a tertiary center of a low resource country, perinatal outcomes in women with pre-eclampsia, etc. His interest in medical education is evidenced by his efforts in spearheading the establishment of the first obstetric ultrasound simulation laboratory in Ghana. He also co-led the establishment of the first high-risk obstetrics clinic outside the teaching hospitals in Ghana.
His on-going research efforts aim to address issues related to the mental health of pregnant women in low-resource settings.
