Dr. Nicole Teal is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and a Women's Reproductive Health Research (WRHR) Scholar at the University of California, San Diego. A native Floridian, she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida in Family, Youth and Community Sciences with minors in Leadership and Education. She earned her medical degree and her Masters in Public Health from the University of South Florida. She then completed residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, San Francisco followed by Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at the University of North Carolina. Dr. Teal's research focuses on understanding root causes of inequities in obstetric outcomes, exploring strategies for mitigating those inequities, and employing implementation science methodology to put promising strategies into practice.
