Dr. Patricia Rojas Mendez, a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellow at SUNY Upstate Medical University, specializing in high-risk obstetrics and advanced prenatal care. She earned her medical degree from the Universidad Central del Caribe in Puerto Rico, completed her OB-GYN residency at Temple University Hospital, and spent a decade as faculty at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, cultivating a profound interest in managing complex pregnancies and improving maternal and fetal outcomes.
Her clinical interests include multiple gestations, abnormal placentation, and prenatal diagnostics, with research focused on obstetric critical care, point-of-care ultrasound, and perinatal depression.
A committed educator, Dr. Rojas Mendez mentors medical students and residents, shaping future specialists in her field. She is an active member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). She plans to pursue an academic career in Maternal-Fetal Medicine, integrating research, teaching, and clinical care.
