Dr. Sara Phillips, MD MPH is a third year resident physician in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR. A Hawai’i-born, PNW-transplant, Sara grew up in a medically-underserved, rural community on Kaua’i. She is an Indigenous scholar and disparities researcher focused on centering reproductive justice and health equity. She holds a BA in Indigenous Health and Biomedical Sciences from the University of British Columbia, an MPH from Harvard and an MD from the University of Washington. Sara's research interests include understanding the population-level burden of adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes within racial and ethnic minority populations, especially in the setting of infertility, sub-fertility, and use of assisted reproductive technologies. She was selected as a 2025 Foundation for SMFM Resident Scholar.
