Asha N. Talati MD MSCR is an Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine and Clinical Genetics & Genomics at University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Talati is board certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, and Clinical Genetics & Genomics. She is also associate faculty at the UNC Center for Bioethics. Dr. Talati attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University and graduated AOA. She completed her residency training at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident 2016-2017. Prior to MFM fellowship, Dr. Talati was a Women's Health Research Fellow at University of North Carolina 2017-2019 serving as a clinical instructor and earning her Master's in Clinical Research (MSCR). Dr. Talati completed fellowship in MFM and Clinical Genetics at UNC from 2019-2023.
Dr. Talati's work focuses on (1) disparities in access to reproductive genetic care, and (2) ethical and equitable implemenatation of novel genomic technologies in the reproductive space. Dr. Talati's work uses mixed-methods, qualitative methods, and implementation strategies. Dr. Talati was recently awarded the ABOG-AAOGF Career Development Award during which time she will be focusing on receiving additional training in community engagement methods, implementation science, and formal training in bioethics.
