Dr. Jonas Swartz is an Assistant Professor of Ob/Gyn at Duke Univeristy. He is originally from Durham, North Carolina and completed his undergraduate medical training and masters in public health at the University of North Carolina. He completed residency at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, OR before returning to the University of North Carolina for Complex Family Planning Fellowship. He joined the Duke Ob/Gyn faculty in 2019 and splits his time as a clinician and researcher. His research interests include health policy issues that impact care for the underserved. Much of his work has been on health disparities with a special focus on immigrants, Medicaid policy and access to abortion and contraception. He provides abortion care in North Carolina and Virginia.
