B.B. (Bas) van Rijn, MD, PhD, Professor of Perinatal Health and Technology, Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. My group focuses on interventions to improve perinatal outcomes, both on clinical interventions aimed at improving clinical practice and adding value to pregnancy and childbirth healthcare, and on fundamental models aimed at innovations and technology suitable for solving key questions related to placental disorders. Current research evolves around the question how to rebuild the maternal-fetal interface using mathematical and living cell models.
