New York, NY, United States
Nico Tavella, MPH, CPH is the clinical research program director for Maternal-Fetal Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, New York, USA. He is also a doctoral student in public health at the City University of New York. His clinical training is in social sciences and behavioral health, having earned a Master's in Public Health from the University of South Florida in 2019. His interests lie in the intersections of social structures (race, ethnicity, gender) and health that yield disparate clinical outcomes facilitated by biopsychosocial mechanisms. Current research interests include examinations of social vulnerability and perinatal risk as it relates to pregnancies complicated by placental disorders and prior cesarean delivery. For the past 3.5 years he has supported dozens of prospective and retrospective clinical research studies across the division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Mount Sinai, and he is thrilled to be attending another SMFM Pregnancy Conference.
