Renée Burger is a medical doctor and PhD-student at the Amsterdam University Medical Centers, department of Obstetrics, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on longterm consequences of various pregnancy complications, both for the mother and the neonate. She coordinates a prospective study (FOLLOW ME 2) on maternal (cardiovascular) health after a complicated pregnancy. In collaboration with others, using advanced data linkage, she performes a large retrospective study on the association between pregnancy complications and cardiovascular health in a multi-ethnic population. Besides that, she studies the influence of pregnancy and pregnancy characterictics, including birthweight, gestational age and onset of labour, on offspring school performance at age 12.
