The United States is currently experiencing an alarming increase in maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity (SMM). While lecture-based courses serve as a valuable resource for healthcare providers to stay updated on the latest treatments and interventions, simulation training plays an essential role in reinforcing that knowledge through practical application. The need for such training is particularly pressing, as opportunities for simulation have been significantly limited in recent years due to restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
This upcoming simulation training course will organize participants into teams that will rotate through four distinct critical care scenarios. Each station will feature two unique simulations that participants must complete. Additionally, there will be two skills stations focused on teaching intraosseous access (IO) and compression sutures for the management of postpartum hemorrhage.
