Dr. Kumar is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan. She completed her OBGYN residency at Northwestern University and MFM fellowship and Masters in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Pennsylvania. Her work to develop and study interventions that expand access to equitable obstetric care lies at the intersection of implementation science, community engaged research, and health equity. She has previously designed a digital patient navigation tool for patients with antepartum anemia and a text messaging support program to support postpartum transitions of care for patients with impaired glucose tolerance. She is a 2020 SMFM Resident Scholar and is a 2021 awardee of the SMFM Danielle Peress MD Memorial Fund. She currently serves on the SMFM Patient Safety and Quality Committee.
