Anwei “Polly” Gwan is a third-year OB/GYN resident physician at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. She received her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University with a major in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology. In addition to her medical degree, she received her Master of Public Health in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center - New Orleans. Passionate about maternal health equity and reproductive justice, she aspires to integrate her public health and medical background to enact population-level change through community-based collaborations and research. Her research interests include the evaluation of short and long-term implications of maternal morbidity, abortion care for high-risk populations, pregnancy care for incarcerated birthing individuals, and evidence-based labor. She is excited to apply for Maternal Fetal Medicine fellowship this upcoming cycle.
