Lia (Amelia) Gagliuso is a third year medical student at Oregon Health & Sciences University. She grew up in Vermont and attended Claremont McKenna College in southern California where she played collegiate basketball and recieved an undergraduate degree in molecular neuroscience. Before attending medical school, she worked in a research lab and volunteered at a visiting doctors program in New York City, where she found her love for scientific discovery and serving others as a physician. Her research interests include infection in pregnancy, social determinants of health, and reproductive advocacy. Her career goals include becoming an Ob/Gyn physician-scientist to further scientific progress and provide high-quality healthcare and advocacy for future patients.
