Uma M. Reddy, MD, MPH is Professor and Vice Chair of Research in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Professor of Population & Family Health at Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University. Dr. Reddy is a leader in maternal-fetal medicine and clinical research, recently elected to the National Academy of Medicine. She is well-known for her paradigm-shifting research that has fundamentally advanced the understanding of stillbirth, preterm birth, labor management, and maternal health.
Dr. Reddy served as the project scientist for the NICHD Stillbirth Collaborative Research Network, the largest US study elucidating the epidemiology and causes of stillbirth. Her research of microarray analysis increased the diagnosis of genetic etiologies of stillbirth and changed the standard of care for stillbirth evaluation. At Columbia, Dr. Reddy serves as Principal Investigator for several large, multicenter NIH-funded studies, including the Maternal-Fetal Medicine Units Network, NY-CHAMP Maternal Health Research Center of Excellence and the Genomic Predictors of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss study. Dr. Reddy has published extensively with over 350 peer reviewed articles, many of which have been published in high-impact jurnals such as NEJM and JAMA.
