Ali Javinani, MD is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Fetal Care and Surgery Center (FCSC) at Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School. His current research interests include fetal interventions, vasa previa, monochorionicity-related complications, and placenta accreta spectrum disorders.
He received his MD from Tehran University of Medical Sciences in 2021. Ali began his research career at the Rheumatology Research Center in Tehran, working on systemic sclerosis and Takayasu arteritis, both from their clinical side, establishing national patient registries, and from the basic science perspective, investigating their pathophysiology. After a productive nine-year tenure, which resulted in more than 35 peer-reviewed papers, he pursued his passion in the field of maternal-fetal medicine. He is currently working at the fetal center of Boston Children's Hospital and coordinates institutional, national, and international studies in the field of maternal-fetal medicine. His ongoing projects focus on the clinical management of vasa previa (FLUMEN Study), selective fetal growth restriction (CONTRAST Study), twin-twin transfusion syndrome, and placenta accreta spectrum disorders. Additionally, he conducts international qualitative studies, utilizing the Delphi technique and focused group discussions, to generate consensus-based clinical guidelines.
