Dr. Akos Herzeg is a MFM specialist, fetal surgeon and an associate professor within the OBGYN Department at UCSF in San Francisco California. Dr. Herzeg has extensively trained in prenatal medicine and fetal therapy with a focus on Special Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine (DEGUM II). His expertise includes managing complicated monochorionic twins, complex multiple gestations, high-risk pregnancies, fetal Spinal dysraphism. He also holds a MBA in Healthcare Administration with a concentration in the Management of Centers of Excellence. Dr. Herzeg has led the development and clinical oversight of the Center for Fetal Surgery at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. Currently at UCSF is working on developing fetal molecular therapies with a particular interest in fetal gene therapies and intrauterine enzyme replacement therapies.
