Ob/Gyn Resident
University of Washington
Beverley was born and raised in Cuba and moved to Miami, where she completed both her undergraduate and medical education at Florida International University (FIU). She began her academic journey with genetics research using Drosophila melanogaster, building a strong foundation in scientific inquiry.
During medical school, she developed an interest in the social determinants of health, particularly how societal factors impact healthcare access and outcomes in underserved communities. Although she was always drawn to surgery, she realized the importance of continuity of care, particularly in women’s health. This led her to pursue obstetrics and gynecology, combining her surgical interests with long-term patient relationships.
Currently in residency, she finds addressing clinical questions the most stimulating part of her work. She is focused on solving complex clinical challenges and using research to improve patient care in maternal-fetal medicine. This project represents her dedication to advancing knowledge in the field.
With her background, she is dedicated to advancing knowledge in Obstetrics and Gynecology by addressing clinical questions and using her skills to enhance patient care in the field.
