Robert Rossi, MD is a clinician scientist at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. His primary research interests are periviable and preterm birth, severe maternal morbidity, and quality and safety. Dr. Rossi graduated from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. He completed residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago. He then completed fellowship training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. During his fellowship, he conducted research on the genetic determinants of preterm birth in humans under the mentorship of Louis Muglia in the Pregnancy Genomics Research Lab at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center. He subsequently joined the faculty at the University of Cincinnati where he has continued his clinical research and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows. In 2024, he became the Division Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Cincinnati.
