Kate Swanson, MD, is an MFM/Geneticist at NorthShore University Health System in the Chicagoland area. Kate completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Chicago, concentrating in Anthropology. She then completed medical school and her Obstetrics & Gynecology residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, followed by a combined fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Medical Genetics at the University of California, San Francisco.
Kate's clinical and research interests focus on caring for families with pregnancies complicated by fetal anomalies, genetic conditions, and loss, as well as paths forward in subsequent pregnancies, including preimplantation genetic testing and gestational surrogacy. Kate has three children; she also loves twentieth century fiction, wine, cheese, modern dance, and outsider art.
