Resident Physician
Stanford Healthcare
Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Metabel's journey has been shaped by a deep commitment to addressing healthcare inequities. She studied medical anthropology and global health at Yale University, where volunteer and research trips to Ghana clarified her passion for global reproductive health. This led her to pursue a master's degree in reproductive medicine at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In medical school, Metabel co-founded the Minority Maternal Health Initiative, a patient-navigator program supporting Black and Hispanic pregnant patients through social services inspired by the stories of the women she served. This experience solidified her mission to bridge healthcare disparities for minority women in the United States and Africa through translational research and compassionate care. Now an OB/GYN resident at Stanford Healthcare, Metabel is dedicated to advancing high-risk obstetrics care in minority populations and global health. Her life's work is guided by the stories of her patients, family, and community, which continue to inspire her vision for equitable healthcare. In her free time, Metabel enjoys writing, exploring fiction and narrative medicine, hiking with friends, experimenting in her kitchen, and sharing meals and stories that foster connection.
