Anne W. Van Der Wel, MD (she/her/hers)

Drs. Anne van der Wel (MD) is a PhD student at the department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Amsterdam UMC, the Netherlands. She graduated as a graduated as a medical doctor July 2021 at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. After working as a physician at the obstetrics department she has worked as a medical project lead focused on Real-World data, providing analytical insights in the relationship between process, quality and costs of care (value-based healthcare). From 2024 on, she is dedicated to obtaining her PhD and setting up new research projects within the field of gestational diabetes mellitus.

Her research focuses on gestational diabetes prevention, diagnostic criteria and the (cost-)effectiveness of various treatment modalities. Her long-term interests include the follow-up of mothers and children after the perinatal period and the way research efforts find their way into clinical practice.
