This course is designed to introduce Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists to the rapidly evolving field of fetal precision medicine, from prenatal genomic sequencing to novel in utero therapies for fetal genetic diseases.

Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the current landscape and emerging options for diagnostic genetic testing in the prenatal setting.
  • Discuss the role of prenatal imaging and deep phenotyping for identifying a fetal genetic diagnosis.
  • Describe emerging in utero therapies and their mechanisms for treating fetal genetic diseases
  • Define key ethical considerations underlying the application of complex perinatal genetic testing and novel in utero therapies.
